Waking up to reality...

So it's been a while since I last updated my blog, which is positively awful.
Yes I will say it again.....

POSITIVELY AWFUL!!

But I have very good excuses, my excuses are always good actually, I have been rather busy with trying to get edits done and get them to customers. Also the last week I was away in the middle of nowhere having the time of my life, now I've had to come back and face reality... It feels like I've had to wake up from a wonderful dream..... And face a nightmare! Goodness me...
Who knew getting back into work mode could be this hard.

I will try get my edits done soon from my little holiday and get them up here to show you all!

Used To Be

you are coming home
are you still alone
are you not the same as you used to be
as the sun grows high
and you serve your time
does each day just feel like another lie
now you know
is it just for show
just a foolish game that you hide behind
dont forget the nights
when it all felt right
are you not the same as you used to be
used to be
- From the song Used To Be by Beach House

I used this song to photograph this forest shoot. What a wonderful shoot it was as well, even though it was shot on a very chilly, misty morning.

Never Ending Love

In March I was able to photograph a lovely couple's elegant outdoor wedding in Kloof, South Africa.
With the help of my lovely assistant, Bianca, we got some stunning shots that day.

Here are a few of my favourites from the day........

(Hope you like them!)

Little Babe

I have been so blessed this past weekend with shooting two shoots in my new studio.

On Saturday I did some pictures of one of my lovely friend's in her wedding dress with her mum, husband and brother and then on Sunday I was given the opportunity to photograph my other good friend's little baby boy who is just 3 weeks old.

I thought today I should put up some quick sneak-peaks of the little baby shoot as Kayden is truly just the most cutest baby boy I have ever seen!!

Beautiful Bride

This past weekend I was incredibly blessed to have been included in Colin Melvil's photographic and videoing team.

I got to help him shoot a wedding out in Greytown on a nature reserve on Saturday.
We had wonderful weather and a great team that worked very well together.

I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite images that I took at the wedding..

Hope you enjoy them!

Anyone for a peanut?

Life is a puzzle sometimes...
You don't always get what you expect or thought you wanted...

Like a peanut.

If you didn't know what was in that shell would you have know just by looking at it that it would hold two small yummy peanuts??

I pray daily for God's grace in my life, that He may give me the wisdom to discern from what is right and what is wrong.. But sometimes I find that I feel so lost... Or broken like the soft shells of these peanuts...

Good picture right?

Seeing My Life in Pictures

My blog is named after how I live my every day, how I saw life in pictures before I even went to college and studied photography.

Since I was a little girl I wanted to do something in the art line.
I went from wanting to be an artist, a painter, an illustrator, an author, a photographer, a graphic designer and then back to a photographer.
In matric (grade 12) my family and I decided I was to apply at a college called Vega (for those of you who are interested follow the link to check it out: http://www.vegaschool.com/).
I went in to apply for graphic design and wrote the entrance exam as well. Afterwards we came across the photography lecturer and got chatting to her, she said I should come in another day and bring my photographs too. Long story cut short I got accepted for graphic design as well as photography. This was a hard decision as I still wasn't 100% sure about what I really wanted to do.
With a lot of prayer I decided I was to study photography.

Believe me, that was THE BEST DECISION EVER!!!

I loved it.

And graphic design seemed way harder too... (yes theres my laziness fully admitting the truth). I won't lie, photography was hard and a lot of work, but when you have a passion for something you want to do your best.

I have now finished my two years of studying photography and now attempting to run my own photography business.
By the grace of God it will be a success.
He's already blessed me with the ability of seeing life in pictures and I will not stop capturing them.
This is my way of glorifying His name.
